Case Study -- MG Cosmeceuticals

"In creating my first entrepreneurial venture I had millions of scattered thoughts flying in all directions: production, marketing, branding, sampling, packaging, logo design, Web site design, public relations, media, press ... you name it. Christine helped me tie all of those elements together neatly into one holistic business strategy, which enabled me to actually get off the ground and start driving revenue."

Milly Gore had a dream to move out of her corporate world and do something completely different that fed a greater passion. After much soul searching, she focused in on developing a skincare line. While she made great initial progress, she quickly got overwhelmed with her to-do list, which was quickly becoming unmanageable as an evening/weekend hobby in addition to her busy 'day job.'

She decided that if she was going to make her dream a reality, she needed some help. She needed to defy gravity. Our initial meetings focused on making a list of everything that needed to happen and helping her to figure out timelines and parallel paths. While it wasn't complicated or formal, this became the operating plan.

We talked about Milly's strengths and resource needs and came up with a plan to divide and conquer. In this case, she took point on product development -- finalizing the formula and making arrangements for packaging and filling. Christine took point on Web site development -- finetuning the message and the copy. They worked closely together on the product name, logo, and pricing strategy.

With the additional resources she needed and product in hand, MG Cosmeceuticals was up and running, selling product by the target deadline. Now with the Web site up and product going out the door, it was time for phase two of the plan.

Milly has now transitioned to focus on distribution options and Christine is focused on Web promotions and PR opportunities. We are aligned on the revenue targets and use weekly phone calls and monthly sit-down meetings to stay connected on progress, prep for key meetings and make sure all the efforts are on track.
